The Alabama 3N3 Marathon Challenge

Run Three Marathons in Three Months!

In a new collaborative effort among the three Alabama marathons, the Alabama 3N3 Marathon Challenge is designed to encourage runners to participate in three of Alabama’s marathons over the course of three months:

  1. Rocket City Marathon – Huntsville – December 2009
  2. BankTrust First Light Marathon – Mobile – January 2010
  3. Mercedes Marathon – Birmingham – February 2010
3N3 Challenge Rules
  • You must register by December 31, 2009 for the 3N3. the 3N3 registration fee is $35 by December 15, and $50 by December 31. 3N3 registration DOES NOT include registration fees for the three individual marathons.
  • You can register three ways: click here to register for the Mercedes Marathon and register for the 3N3 at the same time; click here to register for the 3N3 only; or click here to print off a paper registration form.
  • Participants must register and run the full marathon at each event.
  • Participants must register using the exact same name, birth date and e-mail address for all three marathons.
  • Participants must receive an official time for each marathon. Runners who do not have an official finishing time will automatically be disqualified from the challenge.
  • Entry into each event is not guaranteed; participants must register early to reserve entry.
  • Each marathon has its own time limits. To be eligible for the 3N3 Awards, participants must finish within each event’s time limit.
  • Special awards will be given to those completing all three marathons (78.6 miles of running in Alabama) in the three month time period to commemorate their trip through the great state of Alabama. Awards include:
    • A commemorative series medal
    • A finisher’s embroidered running cap
    • A finisher’s technical running singlet
    • A $25 gift certificate redeemable at any of the following locations:
      • The Trak Shak – Birmingham (three locations)
      • Fleet Feet – Huntsville
      • McCoy’s Outdoors – Mobile
  • Medals will be available for pick up after the Mercedes Marathon at the awards area in Boutwell Auditorium. All other items will be shipped by the end of February.
  • There are no refunds if you are unable to complete all three marathons.
